About Alexander

Alexander was adopted from Russia and grew up watching circuses and loving clowns. He knew he wanted to be a clown since he was 3 years old however, he started his career as a professional magician for over 10 years. As a magician, he performed in all different kinds of venues from bars to theatres and fairs to television. He studied acting at University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point where he was trained in Meisner, Alexander, and Chekhov techniques as well as Viewpoints and dance. Alexander reconnected with his love of clowning when he moved to Vancouver, Washington where he developed and taught a clown program at The Circus Project in Portland, Oregon. When he moved back to Wisconsin, he decided to go all in on his clown career and studied under Master French Clown, Philippe Gaulier, at his personal studio in France. After graduating from Ecole Philippe Gaulier, and help from his mentor, Greg DeSanto, Alexander has toured and performed across the country with a variety of circuses, festivals, and theatres. Additionally, he works at The International Clown Hall of Fame located in Baraboo, Wisconsin whenever he’s in town.
